Directing Silence with John Cage’s 4’33.

Another self-initiated project, this time I praise the work of John Cage’s 4’33.

Whilst listening to 4’33 I collated my thoughts through a process called ‘Stream of Consciousness’. I then transformed these thoughts into words written on sheet music, which replicate musical notes on a page.

These pages were then separated by what I call, silent pages, where my illustrations of musical instruments have been transformed to represent ambient noise within John Cage’s 4’33.
